This convo is from when I was a guest on the Authentic AI® for Entrepreneurs podcast. It was so good and I know you’re gonna get a ton out of it. We got into how to actually use AI in a way that supports your content strategy, especially when it comes to blogging, SEO, and even fun stuff like quizzes and interactive features for your site. I shared why those “set it and forget it” AI tools usually don’t work out as you would think, how I use my Brand Blueprint tool to get better results, and what it really takes to stand out with search right now. Plus, I walk through how I use AI to plan six months of content in way less time (you know I love a system). Definitely give it a listen if content creation has been feeling like a lot lately.

I’m so excited to share something a little different on the podcast this week. I recently had the chance to be a guest on the Authentic AI® for Entrepreneurs podcast, hosted by the amazing Kinsey Soderburg, and we had such a great conversation about AI, SEO, and how to use both intentionally as a small business owner.
If you’re someone who’s been curious about using AI tools to help with blogging, SEO, or even interactive website features, but you’re also a little overwhelmed by all the options and conflicting advice, this is 100% for you.
We covered a lot of ground, from common SEO myths to why done-for-you AI blog tools often fall flat. And of course, I brought the nerdy tips (including how I use AI to generate quizzes, blog planners, and even interactive dropdowns on websites—without needing a coding degree).
Highlights
AI tools can’t do your SEO for you.
There are a ton of tools out there claiming to “handle your SEO” by spitting out content and auto-publishing it. But they don’t actually know your business. They don’t understand your voice, your values, or your audience. So the content ends up being surface-level, off-brand, or even completely irrelevant. And if you’re publishing tons of that kind of content? Google notices, and not in a good way.
AI + your brand voice = actual magic.
The way to make AI work for you is by combining it with your brand strategy. I use my own Brand Blueprint (yes, the same kind I recommend to my clients!) to feed my voice, perspective, and audience info into AI tools. That’s what helps me generate content that’s both strategic and true to my brand, and it’s literally a game-changer.
You still need real strategy to get real SEO results.
If you want to show up in Google and in AI-powered search tools like Perplexity, your content needs more than just keywords. It needs depth, credibility, and a clear point of view. We talked about how ranking in search results is no longer just about frequency or hacks, it’s about creating thoughtful, useful content that actually helps people.
You can use AI to build cool, interactive features, without being a developer.
One of my favorite parts of the conversation was sharing how I use AI to generate things like quizzes, dropdown menus, and interactive tools for blog posts and websites. For example, I’ve built blog-based quizzes where people can select a goal (like “I want more website traffic”) and get a mini-action plan instantly, all using a few prompts in ChatGPT and pasting the code into WordPress. It’s surprisingly doable—and it can make your content so much more engaging.
My Instant Blog Planner makes it all way easier.
We also chatted about my new tool, the Instant Blog Planner, which helps you generate a 6-month editorial calendar in minutes, based on your SEO goals, brand voice, and audience interests. It even gives you blog ideas, repurposing suggestions, and content formats (like infographics or videos) to go along with each post. I created it because I got tired of sitting in front of a blank screen wondering, “What should I write next?” and now I actually look forward to planning content again.
This conversation was such a blast and it really dives into how to use AI with intention, so you can stand out online without living behind the laptop 24/7.
If you’ve ever felt stuck trying to come up with blog ideas, confused about what Google actually wants, or unsure how to make AI feel authentic to your brand, definitely give this one a listen.
