In this episode, I’m chatting through a 3 simple things I see missing on websites all the time, stuff that can actually make a big difference in how well your site performs. It’s one of those quick, practical episodes that’ll have you looking at your site a little differently (in a good way).

Let’s talk about something I see all the time… websites that are missing a few key elements that could either help them rank better on Google or convert more visitors into actual leads.
These aren’t complicated fixes, but they do make a big impact when done right.
Here are three of the most common things I find missing and how you can check your own site for them.
1. Show that you’re trustworthy (to both visitors and Google)
Trust is everything online, and it’s even more important today than it was 10 years ago. If your site doesn’t look or feel trustworthy, people won’t stick around and Google won’t prioritize your content either.
A few easy ways to show trust on your website:
- Add an author bio box at the bottom of your blog posts.
- Build out your About page with more than just a few sentences.
- Sprinkle testimonials across multiple pages, not just on a dedicated testimonial page.
These elements help visitors (and search engines) feel more confident in you. They’re simple credibility boosters that many businesses overlook.
2. Use a real thank you page
This one’s a biggie. When someone submits a contact form, does your site just reload the same page and say, “Thanks!” in tiny text? That’s a missed opportunity.
Instead, set up a proper thank you page that people are redirected to after hitting “submit.”
It’s your first chance to really start building that client relationship. A quick message, a short video, or even another testimonial can go a long way here. It’s also a moment to relieve any anxiety they might have had about whether their message went through or whether you’re the right person for the job.
3. Give readers a next step at the end of your blog posts
Once someone finishes reading your post, don’t leave them hanging. One of the biggest engagement mistakes I see is blog posts that just… end. No call to action, no direction, no suggestion for what’s next.
Instead, make it really obvious where they should go –>
- Link to another blog post they might enjoy.
- Send them to a related service page.
- Add a contact form right there, ready to go.
Help your readers keep the momentum going by giving them a clear next move.
Not sure what your site might be missing?
Fun news! I’ve got a free tool for that. You can run a quick audit on any page of your website to spot exactly where there’s room for improvement. Whether you’re not sure what to look for or just want a second opinion, it’s a great starting point.

The Takeaway
Check for these three things on your own website. If one is missing, pick it and make the update. These small changes can lead to better rankings, more leads, and a smoother user experience.
Coming next week…
I’m sharing my conversation from the Authentic AI for Entrepreneurs podcast with Kinsey Soderberg. We covered everything from which AI SEO tools are actually helpful (hint: many are just surface-level), to what Google and AI browsers like Perplexity are really looking for in your content.
And we also dug into one of my favorite strategies, creating interactive blog tools with ChatGPT, like the quiz I just published that helps you decide whether to keep your marketing in-house or outsource it. (No coding required! I built the whole thing in a WordPress HTML block.)
